Instructions for use

Please read carefully before usage of the varroa-killer-sound!

The Varroa-Killer-Sounds should be used at least twice a year.
Ideal time February to mid April and July / August.

Important: always treat all hives of one spot at the same time (Due to reinfection)

Depending on the needs, the application can also take place all year, even during the honey flow and also in the winter, but always over the period of 40 days. If remaining mites are still present, repeat the operation a second time - after recharging the battery

ATTENTION! BEFORE commissioning, the supplied battery must be charged with a suitable 12V lead-acid battery charger!
Battery must be fully charged after use.

If the battery is stored longer than 30 days, it must be recharged before the next use!

The electronics unit must be unplugged when charging the battery!

The electronics unit is attached to the battery by means of two magnetic tapes.

For assembly, the two protective foils must be removed and the unit attached to the battery as desired.

Important: Before installing the magnetic tape on the battery, clean it with alcohol, the surface must be grease-free! Press magnets firmly so they do not fall off!

You will only get 100% safety that the speaker holds, if you use superglue instead of the magnetic stripe!

There are two possibilities:

Fixation on the front for Dadant etc.Dadant

Side mounting for magazines Langstroth, Zander etc.

Connect the red cable to the positive terminal and the black cable to the negative terminal of the (fully charged) battery. After approx. 1 minute, the green control LED on the top of the electrical unit starts flashing. This indicates the correct functioning of the electronics.

Now the electronics together with battery can be mounted as a unit in the beehive.

The application period is 25 - max. 30 days - then this must be terminated by pulling off the two voltage supply cables from the battery, otherwise a deep discharge and thus destruction of the battery threatens!

The loudspeaker should be at least 2.5 - 3 cm away from the frames. Ideal is 5-8 cm distance to the frames.

In the case of devices without a battery, the device must be attached to a block (wood or similar) which ensures the distance and the stability.

For dadant, in normal magazines (zander, langstroth, normal size, etc.) the switch must be attached to the side of the battery, with the loudspeaker downwards!

Place the device centered over the bees (with an empty magazine) without foil or somthing like that so that the sound pressure can penetrate unimpeded.

When the device is used during the honey flow, metal grids can be placed 3-4 mm mesh width on the frames to prevent the loudspeaker. The grid must not be built (waxed).

The efficiency is reduced by using more than two magazines, because the sound pressure no longer penetrates sufficiently into the lower frame and achieves an efficiency of approx. 80-90%, which, however, considerably reduces the varo-pressure .

In the case of Dadant magazines, the loudspeaker is fixed on the upper side of the battery and placed down on the frames with the loudspeaker so that the high inner cover can be placed overhead.

For bees absolutely compatible and without impairment.

Ambient temperature: + 10 ° C to + 40 ° C

Safety instructions:

These safety instructions must be read before the device is put into operation!

  • The purchased electronic device corresponds to the purchase condition DIN EN 60065 and / or DIN EN 60335. This device must not be exposed to excessive temperatures (above 50 ° C), direct sunlight or high humidity.

  • The manufacturer assumes no liability for personal injury or property damage resulting from improper use of the product.

  • There is no guarantee for damage caused by failure to observe the operating instructions.

  • In commercial facilities, the accident prevention regulations of the Association of Professional Cooperatives for electrical installations and operating equipment must be observed.

  • The device may only be used for the intended application of Varroa mite control.

  • Danger! Use the device only with the supplied 12V lead-acid battery!

  • Observe the polarity of the connection cable (red = plus / black = minus)

  • Connection to a different operating voltage is not permitted.

  • To prevent damage to the battery, make sure that it is never discharged deep.

  • A suitable charger (12V, at least 10Ah) must be used to charge the dry lead battery.

  • For safe charging, a device with a safety device for switching off in the event of overtemperature, polarity reversal and short circuit is recommended.

  • For sensitive people, certain sound frequencies can lead to health impairments (e.g. headaches).

In this case, please use the included earplugs.

  • Keep this manual together with the product.

  • Duration of application 40 days with the included battery.

    No protection against deep discharge!

  • Before each application check whether the electronics function correctly (green control LED flashes after approx. 1 minute after switching on).

  • Technical changes without notice are reserved for continuous product improvements.
